The beautiful Morgenhof farm, situated on the slopes of the Simonsberg
mountain outside Stellenbosch, has a history dating back over 300 years.
Acquired by Mrs Anne Cointreau-Huchon of Cognac in 1993, and granted
Estate status at the end of 1998, Morgenhof has undergone an extensive
upgrading of all the buildings, including the creation of a new Tasting
facility and an invitingly cosy coffee shop. These buildings, typically
French in style, surround the formal rose garden, with a hidden underground
barrel maturation cellar for the red wines.
The flagship wine of the estate is the highly rated Premiere Selection,
a classic bordeaux of 3 varieties. Other top quality wines include the
Sauvignon Blanc, a wooded Chenin Blanc, Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon,
Merlot and a Port. A festive Cap Classique completes the exclusive range
of wines.
Indulge in a personal winetasting experience at one of the tasting
venues, or pause a while longer to enjoy the culinary delights which
are served in the form of a light luncheon, outside unedr the oak tree
during summer, or in the glass Gazebo, which is heated by a roaring
fire, in winter.
